Hi, I'm katalia1 (kat) I'm a friendly person who likes to have fun and make friends. I like to help new ppl since when someone first logs on they usually feel lost. When I first joined Minetown the ppl on the server were friendly and welcoming and it made me enjoy Minetown very much. Today I logged on and everyone just ignored me. I'm not wanting all the attention but geez at least let a person feel welcome so they will want to invite more people to the server as well. Today I had a most miserable lonely time on Minetown and not sure if I want to keep playing. I'll give it one more shot and hope there's some people that don't mind making a new friend. Just because someone is a noob for now doesn't mean they will stay one and one day they might make Minetown great. I'm a writer and I would love to write a positive review about this server not a negative one. Hope things change. If you are also new to the server and would like someone to talk to look me up when I'm online.

Since we aren't notified when users logon, be sure to jump in the conversation so we know you're there! It's always awesome to have new members join; so don't hesitate to any of the mods or myself for anything! Happy mining!
To be honest, this is one of the server's biggest weaknesses. Players need to be given better guides to help them in their starting days, as well as have more interaction with the players who have been there longer. Sadly, I don't see much changing about the second one, because it is out of the staff's control. The biggest thing we can do is encourage players to include everyone in their conversations. Sorry about your miserable day, and I hope you have fun where ever your Minecraft adventures may take you!
I am not trying to negate anything previously said, but I do think it's partially the responsibility of the new people to take the initiative in meeting others. When I first joined Minetown two years ago, I talked with some people in order to make friends. Eventually I got staff after becoming acquaintances with Cody and sawine and proving my ability to help the server. So don't be afraid to partake in other's conversations.
However I do agree with matt; since we have a million features, it's hard to learn everything efficiently. It was easier when I first started because hMod didn't have many plugins; it was WE, WG, CraftBook, and StarGates from what I can remember.
Don't take it personally; some people become focused on what they want to accomplish, so they ignore others that aren't involved. Just find where you fit in.

Joining an active clan or build project is a good way to start socializing and getting to know people. Sorry for your experience with non-response, I find myself involuntarily ignoring the chat box sometimes while working or building, and I'm sure that happens to all of us from time to time. Hi katalia1, im sorry to here that you were ignored when you first joined to say hi, I want you to know that we are a very welcoming community, I would have to say it was just a late night - slow morning. but anyways. It is very nice to meet you and I hope that we will see each other in game. I'm sure you'll make a great addition to the community.
